River Valley Insurance Group, Inc., Inc opened for business in June of 1992 by Ralph and Bonnie Lee. River Valley is a locally owned and operated agency.
After serving nearly 7 ½ years in the Army, Ralph started his insurance career as a trainee with Federated Insurance of Owatonna Minnesota, specializing in Commercial Insurance. After completing an intensive year of specialized insurance training he moved to Madison, Indiana in 1983.
Ralph has been a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) for nearly 25 years. He primarily works with commercial and life insurance.From 1983 to 1992, Ralph worked for Federated Insurance, and then, the Joe Dial Agency out of Bloomington, Indiana.
In his off time he enjoys sports – particularly NASCAR, playing basketball and jogging. He enjoys hunting, shooting sports, and being outdoors.
He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Wild Sheep Foundation, is an Eagle Scout and a lifetime NRA member.
Over the years he has served on various non-profit organization boards and is currently a member of his Church Council.
Ralph earned an AGS Degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii, going to school in the evenings while being a fulltime soldier.
He enjoys spending time with his family, particularly his three grandchildren.

Bonnie Lee
Bonnie Lee is the office manager and personal lines sales manager. She is married with two grown children and three grandchildren.
She is active in her community by serving as a volunteer with Girl’s Inc. and as a Past President of the Board of Directors. She is currently an Ambassador with the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce. She was the Chamber’s “Ambassador of the Year” in 2008. She also gives back to her church by volunteering wherever help is needed and by being the Financial Secretary and Altar Guild Committee Chair.
She began working part-time at River Valley Insurance in 1992 while also working part-time at the Jefferson Proving Ground, before it closed.
Working full time in the Agency since 1993, Bonnie is responsible for all things personal lines related including home, auto, inland marine, and personal umbrella. As office manager, she is in charge of accounting, IT, purchasing, personnel, and networking.
Bonnie received her Property and Casualty Insurance License in 1993, and her Life Insurance License in 2006. Her continuing education includes studies at Ivy Tech Community College, and 20 hours of insurance related classes every two years.
Bonnie enjoys cooking, entertaining, getting together with friends, traveling, reading, technology, and going to the beach. She also loves spending time with her grandchildren and takes every opportunity to be with them.
Julie
Julie is from a family with six brothers and sisters. She grew up in the Osgood area and later moved to the Versailles area where she currently resides with her husband and daughter Emma.
Julie has enjoyed being a member of the River Valley Insurance family since 2000. She started in the Customer Service area and through her dedication and hard work has grown personally and professionally. Over the years her hard work and skill level has earned her various promotions. She is currently the Senior Customer Service Agent and Assistant Office Manager. Her specialty is working in personal and commercial lines.
Her degree in business administration and accounting is from Ivy Tech Community College. She received her Property and Casualty Insurance License in 2002, and her Life Insurance License in 2006. She keeps her insurance knowledge current by attending continuing education classes. In her leisure time, when she has any, she enjoys visiting with her family and friends, running, traveling, and attending four wheeler races.
